Southern Skies

From 2020 to 2023 Andrew was Group Managing Director for Southern Skies Investment Holdings – a collection of companies that supported South African wineries’ direct to customer sales efforts. Acquired and/or launched 8 wine e-commerce businesses, secured over $1m USD in investment, and managed seed funding for digital units. Managed investor relations, media strategies, and preparations for a CTSE listing. Created advisory boards, acquired digital platforms, launched South Africa’s first wine consumer research company, and re-launched key e-commerce platforms like CellarDirect and Cybercellar.com.

From 2011 to 2019 Andrew was Group Managing Director for Invictus Events & Entertainment. Over this period Andrew produced 52 large-scale events, engaging over 400,000 people, managed 20 full time staff plus 300 freelancers. Secured $10m+ in sponsorship and delivered marketing strategies generating $20m in media value over period. Founded and built Africa’s largest beer festival, Bierfest, acquired and expanded South Africa’s biggest wine expo, The Wine Show, and licensed the worlds biggest obstacle course race, Tough Mudder.

From 2008 to 2011 Andrew performed the role (part time) of Australian Honorary Consul pre, during and post the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Over this period Andrew was responsible for the management and advancement of Australian consular, business and political interests within the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape jurisdictions.

From 2009 to 2010 Andrew produced two major 2010 FIFA World Cup campaigns for V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and Melrose Arch in Johannesburg. Major achievements included securing $1 million in marketing partnerships with prominent brands such as MTN, Sony, Adidas, VISA, Hyundai, KIA, Coca-Cola and Neo Africa. Responsible for establishing the V&A Waterfront World Media and Legacy Centre, built broadcast studios for Sky and Al Jazeera, and created public viewing areas and spectator zones.

AusAid / The AFL
From 2007 to 2008 Andrew developed a multi-country communications strategy and delivered a costed implementation plan to boost Australia’s Aid support in Africa.  Simultaneously, Andrew facilitated the launch of the Australian Football League in South Africa and procured $1m in sponsorship from 4 AFL Clubs and a wide variety of Australian businesses active in the region.

Rock Challenge®
Rock Challenge®

From 2004 to 2007 Andrew launched and produced the Rock Challenge in South Africa – a national youth arts event promoting positive lifestyles. Secured $2m in event sponsorships and managed five annual events with 200 school teams and over 15,000 students p.a.. Invited to present to the World Health Organisation and UNAIDS on youth health engagement in Africa and Australia.

Croc Festival®
Croc Festival®

From 2002 to 2004 Andrew produced Croc Festival® – a $3m p.a. Indigenous youth arts festival, fostering social skills and self-esteem. Managed budgets and coordinated programs across Australia in 15 remote community centers, building partnerships with government, schools, and local organizations.
